What Cops Know
When Frances Carriere Was Murdered

“He called out to Frances a few times and then went upstairs. He found her dead in the bathroom, lying between the bathtub and radiator. She was nude, having apparently been surprised as she was preparing to enter the tub. There were bruises on her neck and a V-shaped wound in the center of her forehead. She had been stabbed repeatedly in the chest, the wounds puncturing her heart and one of her lungs and severing several of her ribs.”

From Charles P. Pierce’s excellent narrative piece about the cold case murder of Frances Carriere and the years it took to finally close her case.
